Hertz MPX 165.3 pair of coaxials 16.5 cm Mille Pro Series

Mille PRO coaxials have a sound stage and power handling comparable to those of two-way systems. The concentric woofer tweeter of the MPX 165.3 coaxial allows a single linear phase emission point, for a natural sound with a detailed sound stage.

Thanks to the "Center Tuning Duct" geometry, the resonance frequency of the tweeter is particularly low and the internal use of damping materials linearizes its emission. The acoustic lens optimizes the off-axis response, typical situation of the coaxial installed in the door and the woofer with 36 mm coil, generates deep and controlled low frequencies.

The optional MPG 165.3 grids for coaxials are sold separately.

MPX 165.3 Features:

1. Concentric coaxial tweeter integrated in the moving coil of the woofer, to obtain a single emission point and virtually recreate the sound stage of a live performance.
2. Tetolon fiber soft dome tweeter with 20 mm moving coil, characterized by the “Center Tuning Duct” geometry, for a lower resonance frequency and reduced harmonic distortion.
3. Support of the tweeter which acts as a rear chamber, sized for a low Fs, to ensure a well damped roll-off of the high frequencies, allowing a low crossing point for the cutoff frequency.
4. 36 mm pure copper moving coil of the woofer wrapped in a Polyamide former, for excellent power handling and a reproduction without dynamic compression.
5. Cone in pressed paper with cotton fiber that combines rigidity and lightness, for an extended frequency response. Cone geometry optimized to fully integrate with the emission of the tweeter ensuring the linearity of the phase at the intersection point.
6. Rubber “Boundary Free” surround, for better efficiency and longer mid-low frequencies.
7. Oversized ferrite magnet combined with low carbon polar plates for less distortion at high power levels.
8. Low-depth aluminum alloy basket, acoustically transparent with elegant diamond cut and characterized by the Hertz aluminum logo.
9. Magnet cover in anti vibration rubber, to dampen spurious vibrations.
