The energy in the medium-low range of the MPK 165P.3 system makes the listening experience unique, creating the ideal condition in combination with a powerful subwoofer section.

The electroacoustic parameters of the MP 165P.3 woofer have been shaped to give it the character of an authentic mid-bass with a pure and solid sound, designed for high dynamic listening. The moving coil with a height of 14 mm, in addition to having a greater power seal, has a nominal impedance of 3 Ω. This allows you to make the most of the power of Hertz HCP and HDP amplifiers and all stable electronics on 2 Ω loads. The 95 mm diameter ferrite magnet guarantees the coil a linear excursion of +/- 4.5 mm, always maintaining maximum control. The Boundary Free Surround suspension moves a greater mass of air and the V-cone® profile of the cone improves off-axis dispersion, a real listening condition in the car. The refined aluminum alloy basket neutralizes unwanted vibrations.

The tonal balance of the MPK 165P.3 system is entrusted to the MPCX 2P.3 crossover which uses a copper coil with a 1 mm diameter wire for filtering the MP 165P.3, which with its nominal 3 Ω requires currents high impulsive. The 12dB / Octave filter network of the MP 25.3 tweeter is made with a high-quality 160V bi-metallized polyester capacitor and an air-wound inductor. A level control (0 / + 2.5dB) of the tweeter (MP 25.3), allows to adapt the system response to the listener's preferences and based on the installation position of the components.

MP 25.3 Tweeter:

• Soft dome in Tetolon fiber, for a natural and at the same time detailed reproduction of the musical nuances.
• “Center Tuning Duct” geometry, for a lower resonance frequency and reduced harmonic distortion.
• Neodymium magnet with high density magnetic flux, optimized for maximum control during high energy dynamic transients in the medium-high frequency range.
• 25 mm mobile coil cooled with ferrofluid.
• Rear chamber filled with damping material selected and sized for a lower Fs, to ensure a well-damped roll-off of the high frequencies, allowing a low crossing point for the cutoff frequency.
• Faceplate geometry optimized with FEM (Finite Element Modeling) technique for high linearity with off-axis installations.
• Wide variety of installation accessories, for easy integration in preparation.

 
Woofer MP 165P.3:

• Nominal impedance of 3 Ω to exploit all the power of the amplifier.
• 14 mm high pure copper mobile coil wound in a Polyamide former, for exceptional power handling.
• Magnet with a diameter of 95 mm to maximize control during the entire excursion.
• V-cone® exponential profile in pressed paper with cotton fibers, to combine stiffness and lightness for an extended frequency response. Cone profile geometrically optimized for maximum linearity and dispersion in the mid frequency range.
• Rubber “Boundary Free” surround, for better efficiency and longer mid-low frequencies.
• Low-depth aluminum alloy basket, acoustically transparent with elegant diamond cut and characterized by the Hertz aluminum logo.
• Metal grill with Hertz logo in aluminum for total protection and internal grill with attractive look and painting with mineral powders are included for the different installation combinations.

 
MPCX 2P.3 crossover:

• Two-position switch (0 / +2.5 dB) to adjust the level of the tweeter and optimize the emission of the transducer.
• Bi-metallic 160 V high-quality polyester film capacitors with an ultra-low DF value, for maximum sound transparency and clear high frequencies.
• 1 mm diameter pure copper coils with low resistance series for lower dissipation losses in the woofer section where high current transients are required.
• Compact design to the advantage of simplicity of installation, with ventilation grille on the upper side for efficient heat dissipation.
