The clarity, definition, and transparency of a planar tweeter is unmatched by almost any other type of tweeter. Now Dayton Audio lets you build planar technology into more compact projects with the PTMini-6 planar tweeter! The surface-mount housing design can also be flush-mounted for a world of possible uses, such as a car A-pillar tweeter, a supertweeter for a full-range driver, a rear-mounted ambience tweeter, a conventional forward-facing tweeter configuration, or even a line array!

The membrane of a planar tweeter is an almost weightless ribbon of heat-resistant Kapton material and an etched aluminum conductor, enabling the performance of aluminum ribbon tweeters without the losses inherent in the transformer of a conventional ribbon tweeter. The result is a tweeter that is incredibly fast, dynamic, and smooth sounding with imperceptible distortion and excellent power handling. A crossover cut-off frequency of 4,000 Hz or higher is recommended with a 12 dB/octave filter slope.
