The Prima range of components expands with the introduction of the new wide AP 2 range, an innovative solution to perfection reproducing the entire range of medium and high frequencies with a single cone speaker.
AP 2 is perfect for GM, Ford and Toyota group cars with 50 mm (2 in.) OEM positions in the dashboard or front pillar, where it is combined with an elliptical woofer in the car door.
The compact size and excellent electroacoustic parameters make it ideal for use as a midrange in 3-way systems, as a surround speaker or as a center channel, housed in OEM positions, where space requirements would not allow the use of a speaker with a larger diameter
The advantage of emitting the entire frequency spectrum alone, responsible for creating the virtual stage with absolute phase coherence, ensures a vast acoustic scene concentrated in the upper part of the dashboard. The very low distortion and lack of crossover point in the upper-middle range also provides a natural and pleasant listening experience.
Through careful research and simulation, the Audison R&D team was able to maximize electroacoustic performance for an OEM application.
The resonance frequency of 145 Hz, a very low value for a 50 mm (2 inches), was obtained thanks to the use of a 25 mm (1 in.) Moving coil, ensuring a controlled extension at low frequencies for a optimal crossover point with the woofer.
