The C-Coil is wound around a toroidal sandwich core, and it has extremely low resistance and can shift a large amount of power without getting over heated. If the stated maximum wattage is not exceeded the core will never saturate. The C-Coil is designed for the bass section of crossovers and for passive Sub-Woofers.

Highlights

Wound with ETP (Electrolytic-Tough-Pitch) C11000 / IACS certified copper wire

Toroidal (sandwich) core made from epoxy laminated steel plates

All C-Coils are measured after being wound, using a professional CLIO system @ AC 1V 1kHz

Not suitable for crossovers with an XO point above 1.20 kHz

Product Details

The C-Coil is an audio inductor, unique to Jantzen Audio. It is a toroidal core audio inductor with a very high-power handling and extremely low resistance (RDC). The extremely high-power handling makes it the ultimate inductor for the bass section for certain crossover design. Wound on a toroidal sandwiched steel core and using shrink foil to reduce microphonic effect. The C-Coil is specifically designed for the bass section for crossovers and is not recommended for the mid-range or tweeter section.

All Jantzen Audio inductors, both wire and foil based are made with copper that is in accordance with ETP (Electrolytic-Tough-Pitch) C11000 and an IACS certification of a minimum of 100% conductivity. C11000 copper has a guaranteed purity of 99.9% or higher. The copper purity will often be higher, but 99.9% is the margin which our suppliers of copper wire and copper foil will guarantee as a minimum. The oxygen content of ETP C11000 certified copper is between 0.02 and 0.04%.
